Potluck Meeting Schedule still in the planning process

October 6th - Macallister Russell and family, from Providence Farmstead, will bring us up to date on their goals and activities. Including the recently begun creamery they are building on the Georgia Rd!
November 3rd - Matt Cass from the SCC NASA program is tentatively scheduled to be our presenter on astronomy. His program will include a telescope.
December 1 - Otto Christmas Party
December 5 - Celtic Christmas Ceilidh on Dec 5, 6 till 8:30pm. This will be a gathering of musicians (fiddles, pipes, drums, guitars, vocalists) and Irish dancers from our community and the event will be open free to the public, with donations encouraged for traveling musicians and the Otto Community Center.

Riverside Park

Decades ago, before the current trash recycling areas or the 5 lane highway was constructed, public dumpsters available 24 /7 were located in this vicinity on Riverside Road.

The easy access to the river has made this area popular for many, many years.

It has also been badly neglected.

Now, thanks to an agreement between the county government and the private owner of this parcel of land, this area will undergo a transformation which will allow the public use of the river in a safe and clean environment the plans include improvements to the grading, fence construction, gravel and public safety.

Many of these improvements will be made during this year’s fall and winter seasons. These actions are the result of just one person in our community expressing an idea, an idea that will serve the people of Otto well for many years. Ideas are always welcome. Your ideas!
